Sponsors

I would like to thank my sponsors for helping me with this trip:

Tarptents are the perfect shelter for lightweight travel.  Weighing about 2 pounds, these shelters are also excellently ventilated, and provide great storm and bug protection.  I will probably stay in hostels about half of the time during my travels, and camp in my tarptent the other half.  Also, tarptents are designed by Henry Shires, who lives just down the road from me in Redwood City.

I have shopped at Mike’s Bikes of Palo Alto many times over the past few years, and now they are providing me with excellent discounts and building me a new rear wheel for my bike.  The strength of your rear wheel is very important while bike touring, and I have heard great reviews of the wheel builder at Mike’s Bikes (the store used be called ‘Wheelsmith’).

Clif Bar, the only privately owned organic energy bar company, is providing me with a supply of Clif Bars for the first leg of my travels. Clif Bar has excellent policies on climate change, including investing in renewable energies as well as their start global cooling campaign.

Individual Sonsors:
This ride is mostly self financed - I have saved for a few years. Still, help is always appreciated. A number of people have helped me out on this ride, whether helping me financially, buying me a meal on the road, or letting me stay at their house instead of a campground. Thank you to the following people:

Susan and David Nicholson
The Telles Family
Kirsten Oleson and Tom Oliver
Heather and Luke Hunt
Anne Morningstar
Julia Goodnough
