Take Action

If we want a better tomorrow for the millions of people living throughout the Americas, you need to take action. Listed below are a number of ways that you can make a difference

Donate. I am raising money for two groups that are effectively fighting global warming.  (1) The Union of Concerned Scientists is an organization of scientists and citizens that campaigns for change based upon sound science.  They are an excellent source of credible science, and they currently have a major campaign to fight climate change. (2) Undoit is a campaign run by Environmental Defense that is lobbying to enact a bill in congress that would significantly cut the United State’s greenhouse gas emissions.  You can donate using the links below, or you can send a check to ‘A Ride for the Climate,’ 36 Kettle Pond Rd, Amherst MA, 01002. All money will go to these groups.

Sign These Petitions. If you are a United States citizen, please take the time to sign these petitions below. This is an extremely easy way to show your support, and you will join hundreds of thousands of others at the same time. It will take you no more than 30 seconds.

     

Change Your Habits.  Simple changes can significantly reduce your greenhouse gas emissions, such as installing efficient lighting in your home or driving less.  For specific advice, look at suggestions by the Union of Concerned Scientists, or the National Resource Defense Council.

Join an Enivronmental Organization. I recommend you choose among the four groups I list below. Each does excellent work to fight climate change, and becoming a member will give you regular updates on climate change and make you feel like part of the solution.
