Join us for a gentle ride from Greenwich, CT to New York City to support Ride for Climate with Bill Bradlee and David Kroodsma on their cross country jaunt to raise awareness of global warming. We'll take the 8:37 train to Greenwich arriving at 9:28. Rally upstairs at the Greenwich Plaza train station in the parking lot with the red sculpture that looks like a big red "X" bound by 2 "O's". Group ride cancelled if temperature is below 40° or rain.

The group ride will tour some of Chicago's attempts to delay global warming such as green buildings, recycling facilities, and more. The shorter distance ride will be the first 18 miles of the tour and will end back at the clock tower. The longer ride will then continue on for another 22 miles.

The Chicago Cycling Club and Cycling Sisters are organizing the group ride.

The third annual Bike-In at the Bell brings together bicycle enthusiasts, transportation advocates, environmental groups, artists, and community leaders for a celebration of people-powered transportation. Part community education fair, part family picnic, Bike-In at the Bell is a chance for adults and children to learn about how their transportation choices can positively impact their environment and community. Learn about local bike organizations and bike friendly businesses; find out how to navigate bike trails across the state; play fun, bike-themed carnival games; and decorate your bike for an art bike parade. These games, activities, and workshops will be followed by an evening program that will include a bike fashion show and an outdoor film screening.

You are invited to join David and Bill on Saturday, September 15th for the last leg of their Northern US journey- Fairfax to San Francisco. Bring your family- Riders of all levels are welcome for all or any part of the slow-paced ride. Meet at 8:30 am at the MCBC-hosted staging area in the Fair-Anselm parking lot on Center Blvd. in Fairfax for a 9:00 am departure. The ride will proceed to the parking lot on the northwest side of the Golden Gate Bridge, arriving about 11:00 am, and then on to the Sports Basement in San Francisco, where refreshments will be provided. Helmets are required.

This portion of the ride is being co-sponsored by The Marin County Bicycle Coalition (MCBC), the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition (SFBC), and Sports Basement.
